# Create Uptime monitor

## Create Uptime monitor

Click Uptime in the bottom left corner of the sidebar in your Spike.sh account.

**Step 1: Add uptime monitor details**

Click the "New uptime" button.

Add details for your uptime monitor like name, the full URL including http\:// or https\://

Select a service from the 'Add to service' dropdown and click 'Next' button.

**Step 2: Select escalation policy**

Select an escalation policy to specify who gets alerted when the website is down. For example, we selected a policy where a team member is alerted via phone call.

**Step 3: View the Uptime monitor**

You will now see your newly creating Uptime monitor.
